Business Development Manager – Architecture & Design

With over 30 years experience, TSAR design and produce high quality custom-made carpets and rugs for both commercial and residential projects. Specialising in customisation, we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor our products and designs to meet our clients’ requirements. In addition, we also represent several prestigious European commercial carpet brands, including Object Carpet.
We are seeking a highly self-motivated Business Development Manager for our Sydney office (based in Surry Hills). Reporting to the National Marketing & Sales Manager in Melbourne, you will work autonomously promoting our products to the Architecture & Design market throughout NSW to secure specification on projects.
In this diverse role you will spend much of your day on the road visiting existing and potential clients, presenting our products and identifying current and future projects and opportunities. Working closely with our talented in-house designers in Sydney & Melbourne, you will develop creative solutions to help you secure specification and close sales. You will be responsible for managing all stages of your projects – from preparation of quotations and invoices through to delivery and installation. Your primary objective in this exciting and challenging role will be to continue increasing our profile and building brand awareness and sales in the NSW market.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* Proven track record in sales to the Architecture & Design market and ability to meet sales targets (minimum 2 years experience preferred).
* Wide network of established contacts within the A&D market.
* Ability to develop & maintain strong client relationships and secure repeat business.
* Experience in sourcing new business leads, securing appointments and converting these into specification and sales.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* A passion and understanding of design and colour (relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded).
* Strong organization skills and the ability to work autonomously.
An attractive remuneration package is on offer for the successful applicant: Base salary $60-70K (in line with experience)

Tools of the trade will also be provided (ie. Blackberry and MacBook laptop).
